Scenes from Saturday + 80’s prep

What was supposed to be a very busy day merely turned into a busy day. I had planned to drive into the city to pick up a desk and chair off craigslist, but we had it sniped away from us at the last minute. The perils of used furniture shopping. The quest to fill out the living room continues.

The upside was that not having to drive to Cambridge opened up the morning a bit and suddenly squeezing in a trainer ride wasn’t going to be such a logistical feat. Oath Craft Pizza

Every time I go into the city for work, I pass by the Oath kiosk in South Station. I’m also a huge pizza geek, yet somehow had never stopped in to try the pies. That changed last night. On the way to the Lake Street Dive show, we needed a quick dinner and the Chestnut Hill location was in a perfect spot.

Oath Craft Pizza is a small local Massachusetts chain that started on Nantucket and has expanded to the mainland in the last few years. According to Boston Eater they have some big backers and some big plans beyond just Boston. Continue Reading

2017 “Other” Goals

I am more than a pair of running shoes. Most days.

Here are a few other things I’d like to continue/practice/improve in 2017:

Read more non-fiction
Unlike most Americans, finding time to read or just reading in general, is not my problem. I’m an avid reader and probably average 40 or 50 books a year. But give me a choice and I’ll always go for the pot boiler over the pop psychology. 

I have noticed as I’ve gotten older than I’m increasingly interested in non-fiction, but I’m still primarily a fiction reader so I’m giving myself a goal for ’17 of reading at least 12 non-fiction books (cookbooks don’t count either).
